And God speaks

Mother Nature speaks with a  voice of rolling thunder
All the earth is shaking and we can feel it down under
Rivers flow but do not ever seem to stop their flowing
Winds are wild and approach us with their outreach growing

And God speaks, and God speaks "I am here
Please do not fear, I am here."

Work has shut down and we soon find that we are unemployed
Neighbors rouse us from our sleep; and we are quickly annoyed
Family, we love, no longer knows us and we seem so very alone
Our body aches and we feel defeated: ill and sore to the bone

And God speaks, and God speaks "I am here
Please do not fear, I am here."

The battles roar and people are fighting more than ever before
Use to be, the wars were "out there";  but now they are here at our door
Hatred; prejudice; unkindnesses .... we hear about on the tv screen
Why oh why have we turned into something we're not; do you know what I mean:

And God speaks, and God speaks "I am here
Please do not fear, I am here."

On the road there are beggars who stand with scribbled signs inside their hands
And we quickly judge them and say they brought on themselves this circumstance
Eyes of hurt and loneliness we have all seen and felt in our own day
Someone is needing us and we are needing someone to show us the way

And God speaks, and God speaks "I am here
Please do not fear, I am here."

Will you be for someone that ray of hope; that light, that shines...oh will you?
It doesn't take much skill or knowledge or a PhD from some prestigious school
The only thing we know for sure is:  we were made of love to give each other love
And that love is that bridge that unites the earth with the highest Heavens above.
