The windy storm Irma hit Florida today
In this beautiful state she was having her sway
Spinning and churning and covering it all:
Angels all gasped at the sound of her squall.
Buildings were toppled and houses fell in
Neighborhoods sank in the whirl of her wind
Storm after storm spun out of her waves
Our dear sister state, Florida, was left in a daze
The quieting has brought us to a devastating cry
From those who remained and breathed their last sigh
The coastlines were flooded and changed how we see
The dear state of Florida ripped up by tragedy
Greetings. A poignant piece. Well written with good rhymes.
