Waters rising all around
Up the streets and right back down
Rows of people on the run
Fleeing what the storm has done
Caring people cross the way
Lifting, helping: night and day
Desperate moments, sparkle bright;
When these angels come in sight
Harvey's wrath has hit them all
Older, younger, great and small:
But the beauty, of this pain:
Are these heroes drenched in rain
We all thank you: you, who care
Weathering dangers everywhere
Reaching out and losing sleep
Lifting folks from waters deep
Soon the waters will go down
And the outcome will be found
Homes and lives all torn apart
Time for love and collective heart...
A well structured, poignant piece. God bless all who are suffering and helping.
