Real friendship

Would you be so kindly so understanding..and so caring
As to help me without fanfare with this burden t am bearing
Too often I have had it from tbe passing well wisher or friend
A kindness shown  me only , if they felt glorified in the end...

Real friendship and selfless caring are so very hard to find
Giving, kindly people: are there any with humble mind
Yes, out there, there are people, who have no desire, but to give
The love that they had been given when the good God said "you shall live"

The world has its own version of doing good and doing well
The giver of any kindness likes to ring an enormous bell
That summons all of the media and the cameras and the fame
Nothing is done for loving or for the good of the other's name..

Giving, kindly people: are there any with humble mind
Yes, out there, there are people, who have no desire, but to give
The love that they had been given when the good God said "you shall live"

That someone would be so loving and so kind as to really care
Can often makes others wonder: is this person totally there?
Who would give up their savings or their earnings and their all
To someone who might not mirror it the giver would need to call
