Help me be what others are looking for

Isn't it wonderful, I'm sitting right here
Surrounded by Christians and feeling You near
Yet after the service and everyone is gone
Am I still that  believer who sang out with loud song

How many people will I be helping today
Will I be the Light in the darkness or darken the way
Will I reach out to the broken the needy the poor
Help me dear Jesus to be what others are looking for

The sermons are over and the church door is shut
I run away thinking "that was marvellous stuff"
But when someone is asking me for a pittance of my time
I forget how the sermon spoke about giving our last dime...

How many people will I be helping today
Will I be the Light in the darkness or darken the way
Will I reach out to the broken the needy the poor
Help me dear Jesus to be what others are looking for

It's easy as ever to be wonderful and kind
When sitting with others with the same heart and mind
But let us encounter the trying and the thief
And we will find out how far we're willing to take our belief...

How many people will I be helping today

The chapel is now open and it's everywhere you can see
For the worship of the Lord is not limited to some seat
It is in the living out of our lives and a giving up of our love
So that others can come to believe in the Eternal One above..
