The demons had taunted my soul last night
Replaying the memories that caused me fright
I tossed and I turned and I weakly cried
Leave me alone please stay outside
No matter how hard I tried to run
The memories took over and left me undone
Exhausted and broken by all that fear
I ran to my safe place which i hold dear
Trembling all over I pondered inside
Looking for a cavern in which I could hide
There in my being I created my cave
Where evil can't enter and I am safe
I stayed till the morning; till all was clear
And my heart was calmed, relieved from fear
Hope was renewed; I was able to write
Of the beauty that comes from the inner light
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for posting such a marvellously healing touch in the form of poetry.
