When you peel back the layers and look down inside
Is there anything tangible something glittery to hide
The soulness inside you, yes that spirit that's you
Wasn't created for anything that is sparkly or new
For the things like our vehicles or the houses we own
Are temporary possessions: dissolving like a bone
We can't take them with us so they should help us to be
More like God's loving little children or we'll weep endlessly
When the angels from Heaven come down from that throne
And call out to us gently to finally come home
The attachments that hold us will become our last test:
Will we fly up to Heaven or be damned by selfishness?
