Validation..

I can now move my life forward and I can truly be free
For my eyes have beheld it the proof of my history
My memories had revealed it but my mind wouldn't agree
That all these things happened and are truly a part of me

But now I am enlivened and I am truly set free
Free from those memories that spoke often to me
I have all my validations: my confirmation of it all
My spirit's  no longer held up in that little one so small

The flashbacks kept happening .. .the flashbacks of a time
When my littleness was breaking but couldn't ever define
All that was happening or even know why
The grown ups kept telling me "there's no reason to cry"

But now I am enlivened and I am truly set free
Free from those memories that spoke often to me
I have all my validations: my confirmation of it all
My spirit's  no longer held up in that little one so small

The relatives  all reminded me that  "it was all  long ago
It's time to move forward  .. and just ...let it all go
But I need some sort validation of everything I've known
For no one had ever consoled me for the scars that I own

But now I am enlivened and I am truly set free
Free from those memories that spoke often to me
I have all my validations: my confirmation of it all
My spirit's  no longer held up in that little one so small

For everyone who's reading and wondering as they read
Just know that every child is worthy and precious indeed
Though others may silence them.. make light of their words
The Almighty One's watching and will make known all  their worth..
