Pure Destiny

I still can remember the first time we met
How eager you were to get everything set
Loving and caring your held out your hand
And softly reminded me that you understand

At first, I was fearful; my past was so raw
The memories within me continued to gnaw
My trust was so broken by what was before
You patiently waited and sought nothing more.

Little by little you  carefully taught
Guiding me safely by words that you brought
Nothing judgmental or harmful towards me:
Your kindness and care was all I could see.

Now I'm getting braver but  needing to heal
You keep on guiding me towards everything real
Nothing spectacular had ever  happened to me;
But You entering my life was pure destiny.
