For several days already

For several days already
a tragedy far from me
Has been playing in my mind
and allowing me to see
The brokenness and the fear:
the trauma of that day
Presented in repetitions
that wont seem to go away. .

Sounds of children crying
and the older people too
Keep ringing in my mind:
piercing me through and through
The anguish of all the parents
and the emotions of that day
Continue to hold me to visions
that won't ever go away.
