There is a beautifulness and a loveliness,
and there is so much more out there to see
Than all of that awfulness, or all of that worriedness
or anything that challenges you or me
So let us look out there with all of our intentfulness
and with that hopefulness of the elect
Who find the wonderfulness and all of the awesomeness
that is in the world with which we connect
In all of the breeziness or all of the windiness
and or in the oxygenated atmosphere
We can hear it all of the Infiniteness
and all that is escaping us, and our ear
Without all of that materialness or that noisiness
or all that constant of running around
We can find it all of that tranquilness
that immense Immortalness that's wanting to be found..
So stop now with all of that complainfulness
and with all that woe is me-ness and the like
For there is a peacefulness and a serene-ness
that is waiting for all those who will "take a hike"
Out into the other worldliness and into the naturalness
that is void of all things, that are tech
Try if you have it the timelessness and the willingness
to voyage beyond to reconnect.
Because I love Christmas and the day it recalls
I wish everyone person every blessing that falls:
Happiness and health and a roof over your head;
Plenty of friendship and a nice comfy bed...
The rest of the celebrating: the tinsel.. the glow;
I leave to your discretion, as only you'd know:
It wouldn't be Christmas without all the sharing
Of laughter and memories and kindness and caring
Some may have many things and decorations galore
While others will have reminders of a Baby so poor
However you may choose it, the keeping of this day
I wish you Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas I say..
How do you celebrate It.. this Birthday Most Dear:
With presents and relatives and friends gathered near?
But how do you celebrate It.. and remember the Way
Jesus Incarnated and gave us This Day
The Church Bells are ringing and children delight
At the first sign of morning and Christmassy Light
The grownups are groggy and coffee's on brew
How do you celebrate it.. I ask this of you?
Is Jesus in the picture, or family and friends?
Does Christmas time find you, with a dreary dark lens?
Are you counting the hours, when the day will be gone;
Or, wishing it was longer than, one special dawn?
Storefronts and media and people are all singing
Melodies and jingles and rhymes that are ringing
Yet all of us are different but go through this day
Knowing it's Christmas,,,, so what do you say?
There's something in those sparkling lights, something in those stars
Something in those candy canes and niceties in jars
Though Christmas has become so lost and way too much is spent
There's still a message at this time... despite the worldly dissent
Christmas is still is about our Lord and our Savior reigns today It's still about a Baby born and a King inside some hay Though we see it not with our own eyes the message still is clear Jesus came to Bethlehem and brought all the Heavens here.
We wrap it up inside some glow and glitter up the day
Yet in the giving that we do .. a Baby smiles today
We might not think of long ago a manger or some hay
But if it wasn't for That Time; we wouldn't celebrate this way
Christmas is still is about our Lord and our Savior reigns today It's still about a Baby born and a King inside some hay Though we see it not with our own eyes the message still is clear Jesus came to Bethlehem and brought all the Heavens here.
Many try to forget it all and wish away the time
They think if they don't take a part: the Christmas bells won't chime
They've grown apart from all the love and awe of this wonderful day
Let's bring them all a kindly word and be careful of what we say Christmas is still is about our Lord and our Savior reigns today It's still about a Baby born and a King inside some hay Though we see it not with our own eyes the message still is clear Jesus came to Bethlehem and brought all the Heavens here.
If the joy of Christmas time has dwindled inside your heart
Don't stress yourself with trying to be a person in an acted part
The goodness of this day this year this memory we celebrate
Will trickle down inside your soul if you do not become too irate
Christmas is still is about our Lord and our Savior reigns today It's still about a Baby born and a King inside some hay Though we see it not with our own eyes the message still is clear Jesus came to Bethlehem and brought all the Heavens here.
In just a few more days we'll recall it the glorious Christmas day
When all the world was silent and our Creator lay on some bed of hay
Surrounded by the humblest creatures..and without a heralding band
The Almighty God Incarnate held Heaven in His little Hand
There wasn't anything about His Being His crying or His Feet
That would tell the visiting stranger what secrets He did keep
He wept like all of the rest of us and He soiled his linens too...
The One who made all of the universe was helpless like me and you.
His mother wasn't anything special, she did what women would do
His step father worked like the rest of them: he was a carpenter: it's true
So what was it about this little Baby this Infant, this little Child
That changed the exhausted traveller who approached Him, so meek and mild?
Was there anything about His Sighing or some Energy inside His Cry:
That instructed the visiting onlooker, with a wisdom from on high?
For everyone could see.. He mirrored us: His eyes, His hands His way
Everything was like we had here: nothing spectacular about that hay..
But whenever inside of His presence: that humbleness that was there
Each person went away rejoicing like a recipient of answered prayer
Everyone knew there was something about that Baby that Child that little newborn
That changed their lives forever and memorialized that Christmas morn
So we celebrate that greatest memory, that mysteriousness and Act of Love
When God the Almighty became incarnate and united earth to Heaven above
It was't so sparkly or glittery.... and it wasn't like anything done today
For when the Creator came here seeking: He was quickly rejected away
It is that love that moved Him forward: This Immortal This Creator of all
That we should be trying too remember and teaching to the greatest and small
For we somehow have traded it all for the buying, the ribbons and of the tape
Not knowing that this story is still relevant and never to ancient to relate
Why would our God come to us... like a Baby in some hay?
He could have come in Majesty, and have soldiers lead the way...
But the Almighty One, The Omnipotent chose to come so Small
To make it possible for everyone, to approach Him: one and all..
Why would our God be born like this: without a roof or room?
His Mother didn't even have a maid, or anyone to push her broom...
Because our God wanted us to learn that working carries no shame
And that the least desirable job can bring honor to our name
Why would our God be born beneath a sky so needful of light
Where darkness was the surrounding theme and stars lit up the night
Without the sound of announcing squires or trumpets to blow and blare
Our God chose this, the greatest of times, to be with the humble and share
The lesson we learn from Christmas Day is as visible as can be:
God chooses to be with all of us and isn't needing any notoriety
He's pleased to be with the simplest ones, and those who have no fame
And finds the greatest are the ones who can humbly praise His Name
Sparkling quietly, in the sky
Noble star that glows up high
Many a year your dance has been
A quiet reminder of Bethlehem..
Years ago but seems like now
You directed wiseman who did bow
Before your Babe: This Infant king
Who lay in a manger without anything..
The world it runs without a glance
Towards your presence or your dance
But angels, in the Heavenly throng
Know your reason, know your song...
Gazing upward, throughout the night
My heart is instructed by your light
Knowing your mission. knowing your ways
I praise the Lord of your nights and days
An icy jacket is covering the ground
And an eery silence is echoing around
Crispy crunches are supporting my feet
While a chilling air holds a meet and greet
The birds aren't chirping so loudly today
And a movement of branches is giving them away
Nothing is actively greeting the dawn
But a slew of icycles come out of her yawn
Like a freezer around us the day will begin
Challenging our will power so deep within
Too cold to explore it...this chilliness outside
Yet the pup and I will enjoy the slippery slide.
The clouds above us are all awesomely grey
As they snuggle together to chill up the day
The wind with its might is alll blowing around
And singing how the winter is starting to sound...
So rise up this morning and sleep not too late
For the beauty of dawn has arranged you a date
Peek out of those windows and see all the white
Layered so thinly like a powdery delight..
Golden leaves are covering up the shivering ground
Sounds of winter are whispering secrets all around
Breezes chill and freeze the earth and gazing plants
For it the season for a wintry song and dance
So we see the earth dressed up in a shabbier brown
And there's a crispness in the grass upon the ground
All the earth is shivering beneath the changing ways
Yet we wil rejoice and give God His due and praise..
For whether it is raining, snowing, or just a simple shine
God is watching over your heart and also mine
Giving beauty to this earth and everything that is
This what He does for everything exists..is truly His
