Going back to that dreadful tomb or to that grassy grave
May have a somber setting; and some memories of a day
But looking a little further; beyond our tear filled eyes
We can see that He's truly risen..far beyond our earthly skies
And, so, we will sing the Alleluias and we dance around with joy
We will no longer carry a sadness that can inwardly destroy:
Any of our hopes or our dreaming, or any of our gladsome days
For Easter is our great reminder, of our own rising from the grave..
Yes. we can see the trail of sorrows and carry inside our hearts
Pieces of that painful trial that has broken us into parts
But we are an Easter people, who will sing a song of hope
We celebrate a Risen Savior Who has brightened our visual scope
And, so, we will sing the Alleluias and we will dance around with joy
We will no longer carry a sadness that can inwardly destroy:
Any of our hopes or our dreaming, or any of our gladsome days
For Easter is our great reminder, of our own rising from the grave..
So celebrate this Easter Sunday like never before you have
And bring to everyone around you . that free-ness that'll make them glad
Remind them of that beautiful happening, that has released us all from death
And give to that ever searching world a new lightness and new breath
And, so, we will sing the Alleluias and we'll dance around with joy
We will no longer carry a sadness that can inwardly destroy:
Any of our hopes or our dreaming, or any of our gladsome days
For Easter is our great reminder of our own rising from the grave..
